EuroCaps are a world class Softgel Capsule & Nutritional Gummy Contract Manufacturer. We supply the nutritional supplement and OTC markets across Europe and worldwide. From our factory located in Tredegar, South Wales, UK, we operate a GMP facility licensed by the UK Medicines & Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA).

In recent years, we have undergone rapid expansion, due to the success of our business. We currently employ over 300 people with a sustainable vision of growth to continue to expand output and employment.

EuroCaps was founded in 1994 and in 1999 were acquired by DCC, a multi-billion pound, FTSE 100 listed company. We are part of DCC Health and Beauty Solutions, a subsidiary of DCC Healthcare. Together with our sister companies in DCC Health and Beauty Solutions, we can offer a full range of services from product concept and design to consumer-packed finished goods.

Our prime goal is to offer high quality softgels and gummies and outstanding service to our customers and we would be delighted to discuss your softgel and gummy requirements with you.

Why EuroCaps

EuroCaps was founded with a vision to offer unrivalled customer service and flexibility, whilst offering a highly competitive softgel encapsulation service. Today, even with our rapid growth and expanding capacity, our friendly, highly skilled and expert team strive to maintain that service and flexibility; a quality you won’t find matched elsewhere!

In 2021, seeing the potential of the nutritional gummy market, we chose to invest in a state of the art, starchless, nutritional gummy machine. Now fully operational, manufacturing  all vegan gummies, we now offer nutritional gummies as part of our excellent service.

As one of Europe’s leading CMO’s, with a current capacity of over 2.5 billion softgel capsules per year (rising to over 5 billion in the next five years) and over 500 million gummies per year (with potential for more),  at our GMP licensed facility, we supply many of the key brands and supplement companies in Europe, whilst maintaining our founding principles which have been key to our growth and success.

We have built on these foundations through investment in, and development of, our complex softgel manufacturing capabilities, plus the addition of new technologies such as Vegesoft® vegetarian capsules, Softburst™ chewable capsules and nutritional gummies. Additionally, through our international market knowledge and our extensive supplier network, we work closely with our customers to bring new ideas to market.

Sustainability

EuroCaps constantly seeks to enhance its sustainability profile and maintain a high level of corporate social responsibility, all in line with corporate guidelines of our parent company DCC.

As an ever evolving area of today’s business, EuroCaps champions an ongoing approach to improving all areas of Sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility. Working with partners who share in this philosophy is always appreciated and welcomed.

Carbon Footprint

We track our energy usage continuously, reporting it via our quarterly corporate monitoring regime, whilst also having an active climate change agreement (CCA) with the national government. We have been very successful at making reductions by installing green energy generation for EuroCaps, including the installation of two wind turbines, which are very well suited to our location on the edge of the Brecon Beacons in South Wales. We also have solar panels on our roofs, which you would imagine are not so well suited to the Welsh environment, but actually make a healthy contribution to our energy supply! We also continue to work with the Carbon Trust and are exploring a number of other energy saving projects.

Sustainable Solutions for Raw Materials

EuroCaps are actively searching for sustainable raw materials to use and promote in our products. We are certified and approved by the following organisations and can offer fully certified products, using certified raw materials, which (subject to final customer agreements) can carry the relevant organisations sustainability logos on pack:

  • Marine Steward Council (MSC)
  • Friend of the Sea (FoS)
  • Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC)

Business Ethics and Social Responsibility

All employees are committed to the DCC Code of Business Ethics. This ensures a common commitment to the highest standards of behaviour in our daily responsibilities. In addition, through our membership of SEDEX we ensure a sustainable and ethical supply chain. We are also members of ECOVADIS a CSR assessment platform based on 21 criteria across four themes of Environment, Fair labour practices, Ethics/fair business practices and Supply chain.

Health & Safety Training

Our Health & Safety policies and active working groups provide ongoing training and development which helps protect the well-being of all members of our staff and visitors. We follow DCC’s health and safety policy, details of which can be found here: https://www.dcc.ie/~/media/Files/D/DCC-v2/documents/pdfs/health-and-safety-policy.pdf

Reduce, Reuse and Recycle

The majority of our waste streams have been successfully diverted away from landfill. Naturally, as our high quality products demand, packaging is of significant importance to the integrity and quality of our raw materials. Efficient management of the waste streams that result from this process results in the majority of all plastics, metals, paper and wood being segregated and presented for recycling. Our raw material surpluses provide a steady input to a variety of industries. All office and canteen facilities operate segregation and recycling schemes, including food waste for anaerobic digestion. Working with industry leaders and environmental experts, our in-house Environmental specialists look to ensure our waste streams are handled in line with industry and government standards.
